  • Why March 29th?

    Both the Constitution Act, 1867, and the Constitution Act, 1982, received Royal Assent on the same day in their respective years: March 29th. Constitution Day encourages governments to recognize this day, while aiming to advance the understanding of the Constitution among Canadians.
